    Default REAL RUNNING COSTS

I've seen a number of questions from people asking how much does it cost to run a Ferrari? Presumably from potential new Ferrari purchasers who are worried how much a Ferrari might dent their wealth. Well, I ran the cost of running my 456M GTA which I purchased used in May 2005 with 16,700 miles on the clock until today on my computer finance package. This includes depreciation, maintenance, petrol, insurance, everything. I made a few assumptions, but I think this is as accurate an answer you will get based on my personal experience keeping my ten year old 12 cylinder Ferrari on the road. Some of you may find this shocking and if I put off potential purchasers that's a good thing and if I don't frighten you then go ahead and buy that Ferrari you are dreaming about. The real relevant figures are at the bottom of this extensive list if you prefer to scroll down.

    Brilliant

That should put everyone off buying one, therefore depreciating it even more.

    Miles /Gallon: 6.017

Very interesting data. I think most of us are too scared to add up the figures !! I guess for completeness you could probably add in the lost interest on the cash tied up in the car.

Why do the service costs differ so much compared to Verdi's fixed cost menu?

    Cheers

All the main services appear to be at franchise dealers rather than specialist and Verdi's prices don't include vat - also with the best will in the world it is incredibly rare for a service to only include what was originally planned

Depends whether a service was the only thing done at the time Lee. It rarely is.

I did the same thing on my 355. Per mile cost was around 1.43GBP. Owned it a smidge longer but did twice the miles almost. It pays to use them

I reckon if you ran the full numbers on any high performance car you might not see "much" difference.

if you deduct the value of 'Smiles per Mile' then they are cheap as chips to run
