Not many people know that establishment was owned by Dodi Al Fayed at one time (well his old man bought it for him)..

Agree, bearing mind that's the sort of mileage cars are being sold with or close to today! Although I bet the 400 hasn't much more mileage as it probably spent most of its life being fixed!

Nice find though. Is there a date on there?

I must say that it's all a bit of a vicious circle really. There's a perceived (incorrect) view of fragility that drives the market towards low mileage examples. That leads to the 'clocking' of cars so the examples we see often have more mileage than they've have you believe which disproves the fragility myth. Many cars will never be able to prove just how good they've been over time by covering much higher distances. It's a shame (I hope that makes sense. I know what I mean)

    Makes sense to me.

Is curious how adverts for cars selling back in the 80's always reflect higher advertised mileage than likewise adverts on current day cars for sale

    Default Mileage

I agree. I have many ads mainly from the 80's and 90's. I am sure the mileages will have remained almost static on some. It seems to me that the bias towards low mileage is much more a UK thing in Europe.

It would be interesting to know the date of that advertisement. If only I........
